Biblioburbia Exhibition

March 6, 2012

Apart from the occasional excursion out to discover big things, I’ve been at home working on the exhibition that is to be the culmination of my Biblioburbia blog. For Biblioburbia I made journeys to suburban Sydney libraries and wrote about my discoveries in them, and for the exhibition I’m making a map of the project.

It’s satisfying to make the blog into another form. I have printed out the entire Biblioburbia blog, which is now sitting on my desk, an inch of A4 paper. Often it works the other way round: something is summarised or documented in a blog, rather than the blog being transformed into something new. For the exact details of my mapmaking you will have to wait and see, although I can tell you I will be making a print on the Big Fag Press this weekend.

The exhibition is at First Draft gallery, opening on Wednesday 14th March, 6-8pm. It runs until the 1st April.

I googled your name and misspelt Biblioburbia, and Google asked “Did you mean Bibliophobia?”

And I thought to myself that you would appreciate this story. Looking forward to the opening! xx
