Vanessa Berry is a Sydney writer and artist who works with history, memory and archives. She is the author of Mirror Sydney: an atlas of reflections (Giramondo 2017), a collection of essays and hand-drawn maps that investigate the city’s marginal places and undercurrents. Her previous work includes the memoirs Ninety 9 (Giramondo 2013) and Strawberry Hills Forever (Local Consumption Publications 2007), as well as the long-running zine series I Am a Camera (1999–2018). Since 2012 she has written the Sydney psychogeography blog Mirror Sydney.

Her writing has appeared in her many zines, the blog Biblioburbia and literary journals and anthologies such as the Sydney Review of Books, The Lifted BrowMeanjin, HiLoBrowHeat and The Sleepers Almanac. Her zines have been exhibited at the MCA, National Gallery of Australia, State Library of Victoria, and at numerous smaller galleries, and are held in the collections of many zine libraries in Australia and around the world. She is also known for her creative cartography and her map-based works have been exhibited at the Museum of Sydney, Macquarie University Art Gallery, and Verge Gallery, and are held in the collection of the State Library of NSW.
